No Incapacity Benefit - Your leg may grow back!

Its not often (in fact this is really odd, two stories in one day!) that the press report failings with the benefit system (other than fraudsters) but this time, the SUN has a story about a woman who was refused incapacity benefit - as her amputated leg may grow back (or thats the way they report the story).

To be honest, I would normally think its the paper misleading people, but after first hand experience of how bad the medicals can be, I believe the story to be true and accurate.

AN amputee had her application for disability handouts knocked back — in case her leg GREW BACK.

Stunned Beryl Prescott, 57, was told to wait three months and apply again in case her severed limb "got better".

Hard-working Beryl — a former nurse who says she has paid taxes all her life — applied for incapacity benefits after losing her right leg to gangrene.

But officials knocked her back three times because they couldn't be sure she was genuinely disabled.

Again, we applaud the paper for printing the opposite side of the coin (for a change) and really hope they continue to publish such stories.
